Sweet Raspberries!
Hello All,
The scripture of the day is found in John 15:8 (NIV) – This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
I am starting off my day with a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios, a cup of nonfat milk and a handful of red raspberries, hmmmm! The raspberries are so good and they give my cheerios another level of sweetness. I also like that red raspberries have some beneficial nutritional value for my body. Some of the possible health benefits in red raspberries:
- They are low in calories.
- It’s been said that they have an acid in them that can stop cancer causing chemicals from roaming in the body.
- They are high in fiber.
- They are high in Vitamin C and manganese.
- They are high in flavonoid compounds, which are said to help protect the body from heart disease.
- If you steep the raspberry leaves into a tea, it’s said to help ease colds and sore throats.
I enjoy eating raspberries in a variety of ways with a lot of different foods. I like them raw, in cereal, in a smoothie, with yogurt or in a salad. Be sweet to your body today and go out and get some red raspberries and start enjoying all the nutritional value they have to offer.
As always, my goal is to help you live healthy, mind, body and spirit so you can live your best life!
